As a Fuel Delivery Driver, you will work with our Dispatch team to deliver product safely to our residential and commercial customers. Your goal will be to provide a meaningful and essential service to our Irving Energy customers in a safety focused environment.  Your success will depend on your ability to adhere to daily routes, load the fuel truck, and complete pre-and post-trip inspections while maintaining to all Department of Transportation regulations and procedures.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Driving a delivery truck while adhering to all DOT regulations and procedures.
  • Working with our Dispatch Team in delivering products to residential and commercial customers.
  • Following a daily route using knowledge of geography, routes, zones, streets etc.
  • Loading truck with required product while adhering to all safety policies and procedures at loading site/bulk plant.
  • Completion of daily shift report, pre and post trip inspections and any required paperwork.

Your Skills:
  • Previous experience with liquid loads is considered an asset.
  • Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
  • Attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
  • Strong safety focus required.

Your Experience:
  • A valid CDL Class A or Class B Driver’s License with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements
  • Minimum 2 years professional driving experience required.

Fuel Delivery Driver​

Heating Service Technician

This role is responsible for the day-to-day servicing of our customers through troubleshooting and performing diagnostic activities in regard to service equipment within established policies and procedures.

Duties/Requirements include:
  • Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of oil and propane fired boilers, furnaces, water heaters and oil tanks.
  • Fix problems that occur by reviewing diagnostics and using the proper tools to complete repairs.
  • Provide final inspections of systems once repairs are completed to ensure all equipment is operating safely.
  • Foster good customer relations by explaining to customers the service work performed.
  • Complete appropriate daily paperwork for each service call.
  • Maintain daily and yearly inventory.
  • Ensure the service truck is in good working order and reliable.
  • Frequent driving, climbing in and out of vehicle and working in confined spaces. Heavy lifting and ability to work at heights ranging up to 50 ft. Rotational on call evenings and weekends.
  • Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental productivity.

Qualifications:
  • Gas Fitters license.
  • Nora Certification a plus
  • Ability to install various types of heating equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of wiring and plumbing is required.
  • Ability to work well with others; good organization and communication skills; attention to detail and strong customer service.
  • Decision making skills are require
  • Previous heating technician experience preferred.

Refined Fuel (RF) Delivery Driver (CDL)

Dorr Oil is seeking a Refined Fuel (RF) Delivery Driver (CDL) to join our team! We can offer you competitive pay, great benefits, work-life balance, and a family-friendly teamwork environment.

The Refined Fuel Driver is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering refined fuels to our residential and commercial customers using a bobtail truck (3,000-5,000 gallon capacity). Our Refined Fuel Drivers are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety. This position requires a Class A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

This position will support our Dorr Oil location in Manchester Center, VT.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all city, state, and federal regulations
  • Loads, secures, transports, and delivers refined fuel and oil to residential and commercial locations
  • Must perform pre and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
  • Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven in compliance with all DOT regulations
  • Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
  • Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
  • Plans and accomplishes a complete range of operational assignments and tasks that are varied and moderately complex to complex related to gauge tank volumes and testing product quality and specifications of bulk petroleum products and transporting from remote locations to pipeline injection points
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
  • Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Ability to obtain the necessary certification to assist with propane delivery within six (6) months

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Class A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements required
  • Must meet all DOT requirements
  • No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years
  • 1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years

Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements:
  • The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 100 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift.
  • Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
  • Good hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms
  • Must be able to speak and hear
  • Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider
  • Must pass pre-employment screening
  • Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
  • Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common. airborne particles
