The NORA Bronze Basic Oilheat Technician Training Program is an 80 hour course that provides a solid foundation for anyone entering this skilled trade of heating professionals. This 10 day seminar of concentrated fundamental classroom theory is coupled with practical laboratory work, including some hands-on experience of live-fire equipment. The course is based upon the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) Technicians Manual. The NORA Bronze Test will be given on the last day of the course and a NORA Bronze Certificate of Training will be awarded to each student who completes the course and passes the examination.
If you are a member of either HCCV or VFDA, you can take this seminar at a discounted rate. Members pay $1200, non members $1500. Price includes the NORA Oilheat Technicians Manual and a copy of NFPA 31: Standard for the Installation of Oil-Burning Equipment. Anyone attending this class must have a NORA Tech ID. Students that pass their exam will be able to download their certificate on the NORA website.
